Elements and Performance Criteria
- Plan and prepare for filtering process
- Access, interpret and apply filtering process documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant
- Obtain, read, interpret, clarify and confirm work requirements
- Coordinate and communicate with other personnel using approved communication method
- Select and wear personal protective equipment appropriate for work activities
- Select appropriate type of auxiliary equipment for work activities
- Perform equipment pre-start checks
- Identify and address potential risks, hazards and environmental issues, and implement control measures
- Obtain and interpret emergency procedures, and be prepared for fire/accident/emergency
- Use dust suppression and extraction methods
- Ensure area is well ventilated
- Start-up equipment in sequence
- Operate and monitor equipment
- Read, interpret and apply data from equipment indicators
- Continuously inspect plant and identify defects and potential problems
- Adjust equipment to approved operating parameters
- Control feed to equipment
- Monitor moisture in cake and density of filtrate
- Monitor reagent addition for cleaning
- Monitor and maintain air systems
- Maintain cleanliness of filtration systems
- Complete all required written documentation clearly, concisely and on time
- Pass on end of shift information verbally or in writing to oncoming shift
- Shutdown in sequence and/or isolate equipment
- Conduct housekeeping activities
